Planned Giving

Leave a Legacy

Create a legacy by planning a gift that guarantees Jewish Home Family’s mission will continue. Planned Giving provides the opportunity to commit a charitable gift now that will benefit Jewish Home Family in the future. It goes beyond writing a check. A legacy gift can be designated in a will, a retirement plan, creating an endowment or a life insurance policy.

The following is a list of some of the most popular forms of charitable giving.

Bequest

  • A bequest is one of the easiest gifts to make.
  • With the help of an advisor, you can include language in your will or trust specifying a gift be made to Jewish Home Foundation of North Jersey, Inc. (JHF), to benefit Jewish Home Family, as part of your estate plan.

IRA Rollover

  • Avoid taxes on transfers of up to $105,000 from your IRA to JHF.
  • Satisfy your required minimum distribution (RMD) for the year.
  • Reduce your taxable income, even if you do not itemize deductions.
  • Make a gift that is not subject to the deduction limits on charitable gifts.
  • Take care of our elders by supporting the mission of the Jewish Home Family.

Appreciated Stock

  • The gift of stock that has increased in value is a win-win situation.
  • It provides a charitable gift to the Jewish Home Foudnation, eliminates capital gains tax that would otherwise be applicable to the donor, and provides a charitable deduction to the donor. This type of gift can be as simple as an electronic transfer.

Gift Annuities & Remainder Trusts

  • This type of legacy gift can be structured in a variety of ways, providing annual income to the donor, and providing the satisfaction of knowing that the residual of the gift will ultimately benefit the Jewish Home Family.

Life Insurance

  • This allows the donor to make a gift of assets that may no longer be needed, or that have “outlived” their original purpose.
  • One can choose to use the “cash value” of a policy to fund a gift or name the Jewish Home Foundation of North Jersey as the “beneficiary”, to receive all or a portion of the proceeds of the policy at death.

Contributions may be made through the Jewish Home Foundation which is a not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) organization. Contributions made to the Foundation are tax-deductible as permitted by law.

We appreciate everything all the good folks at AL have done for our mom. Mom felt so very welcomed during her time there. From the caregivers to nurses and everyone - very caring and encouraging. It is so good to have a relationship with you all for any future respite or other needs.

My sister Maureen and I want to thank you and all the wonderful caregivers at Jewish Home.  Our mom has felt very welcomed, safe and cared for over the past 2 weeks.  She has also made some very good friends!

We tried hiring a health aide directly and ended up having to provide last-minute backup and support. The 24-hour on-call and nursing support makes an incredible difference.
